Primary Education Blog SATs week!
Here at twinkl we just want to wish everyone who is taking part in SATs week a big GOOD LUCK and above all, don't forget to keep calm! I do miss the buzz of being part of SATs as a former year 6 (now year 1) teacher, happy days. It was stressful but also fun and meant we always had something to aim for. I always found that the children loved answering the questions and preparing for the excitement. I only ever encountered one or two children who were reluctant to take part which is also understandable. This year sees the introduction of the new year 6 grammar test which is a new one on me. I can't help but wonder what will happen to SATs with the introduction of the new 2014 National Curriculum; how can the children be expected to practice with past papers for example if they have been taught something totally different? Perhaps there will be plenty of examples, or maybe SATs won't even be around by then? Who knows?
Are you involved with SATs? Is it a love or a loathe for you?
