Timkat, also known as Timket or Timqat, is when the Ethiopian Orthodox church celebrates epiphany. It is when they celebrate the baptism of Christ in the River Jordan. On this day, the baptism is re-enacted, and music food and processions take place. It is celebrated on the 19th January, and 20th Januray on leap years.
