News GCSE results: advice for teachers on dealing with disappointing grades

With the release of GCSE results looming, we spoke to teachers on Twitter about what to do when your pupils get lower than expected marks

Ofqual has warned teachers may see a drop in marks in core subjects, due to exam changes. If you're faced with disheartening news, here is some help from teachers on Twitter.

One suggestion came from Shawn Skellon. "After teaching for more than 20 years I have had to realise that if you have literally done all you can and the results are still poor, what else can you do?" he said. "The outside influences of social life, lack of support at home and prioritising other subjects over yours all impact on results."
