News Letter: Russell Twisk taught with a smile and kind words

In retirement, Russell Twisk was a tutor at his local branch of the Workers' Educational Association in Petersfield, Hampshire. Along with the journalist and author Colin Dunne, he ran Write Now!, an evening course for aspiring writers. He would always turn up early, helping to set up the tables and chairs and dealing with the dodgy heating system in the community hall. He had a wonderful sense of humour and always offered newcomers a smile and a kindly word. The fact that several students had their work published is due in no small part to Russell's eagle eye and unstinting encouragement.
