Clearing: a timeline
15 August 2013
A-level results are published and the full Clearing vacancy information service – covering English, Welsh and Northern Irish institutions – starts.
Adjustment opens for registration. Applicants who have achieved better results than expected and exceeded their original firm offer conditions have the option to register in Track to explore other institutions and courses that they may prefer.
Clearing vacancies are viewable on the Ucas website.
From about 7am applicants can log into Track to see if they have been accepted.
Applicants in Clearing should call universities and colleges during the day to discuss courses and to secure a provisional offer.
From 5pm applicants can start entering their formal Clearing choices on the Ucas website.
31 August 2013
Adjustment closes. Applicants who registered but who have received no alternative offer will revert to the place they were originally offered.
20 September 2013
Last date Ucas will accept new applications for 2013 courses. Lists of vacancies will remain open for those already in the system.
30 September 2013
The Clearing vacancy search closes: applicants can still add Clearing choices in Track, but should first contact universities and colleges directly to discuss vacancies.
