News Teachers around the world share their stories interactive

For World Teachers Day we asked teachers from all around the globe to tell us their biggest challenges and successes. Heres what we foundStories from teachers around the world full interactiveDavid Cheres first classroom was a patch of ground under a tree. Children in his community in remote Kenya were walking up to 10 kilometers to get to school so he held outdoor lessons for them closer to home. When a growing number attended his make-shift school, Cheres demanded the government provide more teachers so he could build a proper school for the children to learn in.Cheres, a father of four, is now one of many volunteer teachers in Sinendet primary school in the Lemolo B community. The government posted eight teachers to their school this January and World Teacher Aid has started building a school house in the neighbourhood. Continue reading...
