News Teachers' pay curb could hinder recruitment, taskforce warns

Report says profession may struggle to attract and retain staff if wages fail to keep pace with other sectors recruiting graduatesThe body in charge of recommending salaries for state school teachers has warned the profession might have difficulty attracting new recruits because of continuing pay restraints.The warning came as the education secretary, Michael Gove, accepted a recommendation that teachers in England and Wales should receive a minimum 1% pay rise for the coming year.
