  • Resource is perfect- I like that the focus is on sounds with the dots, rather than on spelling, as this fits in well when working on phonological awareness. Would love pictures to go with the words too.

  • Hi I've just attend a phonics course based on Letters and Sounds, where the digraphs and trigraphs have a dash rather than a dot to help children realise that a combination of letters are making one sound. Also split digraphs have a curved sound line connecting them. Would it be possible to have a version which matches Letters and Sounds? Thanks

    • Hi bickley2,
I'll see what we can do for you! Thanks for commenting :)

    • Hi there,
This resource already features dashes underneath the digraphs and trigraphs, as well as a curved line connecting the split digraphs. If this isn't what you were looking for could you specify in a little more detail what you were hoping for? Thanks!

    • Hi
Thanks for your response. The dashes appear as if the digraphs and trigraphs are underlined and the sound is represent by a dot. For 'spray' for example the sound buttons (appearing as a horizontal lone underneath the word) should be 'dot dot dot dash' but in this resource it has 'dot dot dot dot' and the ay is just underlined. I don't know how to attach an image but if you look on page 119 of the Letters and Sounds document it shows what sound buttons look like with digraphs. Hopefully that is clearer? Thanks

  • I find these really useful!

  • This would be more useful if the sound buttons for digraphs / trigraphs were a line rather than a button (as in the Letters and Sounds document).
