  • This is perfect for my K2 class for writing! Is it possible to make this with uppercase and lowercase in a straight K, please? Thank you! :)

  • Is there any way that you can make a copy of this without the letters on the rainbow too. I'd like my children to put magnetic letters on the alphabet rainbow first, but as they get better to try and make the alphabet on a blank rainbow. Thanks

  • I will use it for teaching letter names.

  • Use it as a writing mat. Students can access letter formation easily. Phonic training at reading time -quickfire show me the letter ..., show me the one that makes the sound...., show me the one at the beginning of the word ....

  • I would use the alphabet arc with magnetic letters. It would be great if you could include boxes under the arc to use magnetic letters to make cvc and ccvc words.

  • I have been using alphabet arches as place mats at writing time for many years now. I just love the idea of the art work making it more interesting.
We use the arches by covering one letter (or 2) and children have to work out what letter is covered. I also do a quick fire pointing activity e.g., point the the N, point to the one that says /b/, point to the one after q (what does it say?) point to the one that you hear at the beginning of the word man. I also give them a word and they point to the letters in sequence to build that word. I put a red circle around the vowels to highlight them.
By using it as a place mat during writing time for new entrants (I enlarge mine to A3) the model for writing the letters is always right there.

  • Very clear letters and lovely bright colours

An A4 alphabet mat, including the letters a-z on a rather lovely rainbow. Especially useful for dyslexic pupils, as the different colour make the letters easier to see. Why not take a look at our other alphabet mats too?
This resource is available in Standard, Straight K, Uppercase, Cursive, uppercase, Upper and Lowercase, blank, Blank, Precursive, precursive lowercase, precursive upper and lowercase version, Vowel and Consonant and A3.
