  • In class today we were discussing how a compound sentence is constructed by joining two or more simple sentences with a connective/conjunction (such as F.A.N.B.O.Y.S.), when I mentioned that it was just like joining LEGO bricks—the joy of one of my lowest ability students—and you could almost see the "light bulb" of understanding click on over his head. So, I thought I'd replicate it on an Anchor Chart for the classroom "teaching-wall".

Brighten up your sound families display with these lovely toy figure cut-outs. Features the main sound on the toy figure, with alternative spellings on the building bricks.
