  • I am still unsure of how you use this? If you roll the dice as suggested below and then have to recite the sounds on that row, this works for numbers 1, 5 and 3. There are no rows that start with the sounds e, ,r or b. Even if you do this acoss rows and column, the b sound doesn't appear in either. So, I'm not really clear on this aspect?

    • Hi Clevedon999,
Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you :)

The row doesn't have to start with the sound. They can choose a row which includes the sound and read that .

      I hope this helps :)

    • Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. All you need to do is get your children to roll a dice and recite the phase two sounds on the line that matches their number. So for example, if they roll a 1 on the dice, that would be a 'ck' sound, so the children then say all the sounds on the row 'ck, e, u, r'. I hope that this makes things clearer, but if it doesn't then please get back in touch. Have a lovely day :)

Get your children to roll a number, then find and say all the matching phase two sounds in the grid, perfect for phonics lessons.
