  • Please can this be as it is without the finger spacing question? As I teach 14 years and above I don't want them to think that they are in Primary by having this question. The first part is great!

  • I am going to use this as I teach punctuation to my class, building on the levels as we go.
I have also seen students use this to evaluate their writing, and reflect on whether they have used interesting enough punctuation. They had copies of it in their books, and scored their writing out of 5 in accordance with the levels in the pyramid. This way they were able to aim to add more the next time they did writing.

  • Have you got an updated version of this pyramid? We've been told with the new curriculum there is actually more punctuation on each line - for example, an added exclamation mark to year 1.

A pyramid displaying all the punctuation featured in VCOP. Great for use as a display resource, or given to your children to aid them in their independent writing.
