  • This is a lovely resource, and I will be using it for whole class guided reading/comprehension on Monday. However I will be changing the name of the baddy. Why does he have to be associated with a shark? They get a bad rap as it is and are in severe danger from over-fishing. I am a passionate advocate of shark conservation and even something as simple as naming the bad-guy Sharky helps to reinforce the Jaws stereotype! I have left behind me in my career so far 5 classes who love sharks and think it is awesome that their teacher goes diving with them! (working on class 6!) Sorry if this seems a bit picky, I will get off my soap box now!

    • Hi lynsey.herron,

I'm glad this resource is useful!

I agree with you, I love sharks and think we owe them some respect. They are just defending their territory, like any living being defends their territory when feeling threatened.

Thanks for letting us know :)
