  • This is great - is there any way you can make this all fit on one A4 page? The common exception words could just be I can spell some/ most/ all common exception words to make it smaller. Failing that, can you make an editable version?

    • Thank you for looking into it for me. I've clicked the link above and unfortunately it still states the expectations from 2016 (including exclamation, command sentences etc) and these are not included on the Sept 2017 expectations. Please let me know when they become available or if I've clicked the wrong link. Thanks again, Emma

Thanks for getting in touch - these statements have been rewritten to be easily understandable by a KS1 student, were you hoping for a version that has the TAF objectives modified only with 'I can...'?

We also have an editable version of this resource available that you might find helpful to adapt the statements to suit your setting. I hope you like it!

    , Sep 17th
  • Would it be able to know where to find the non-child friendly version, please? I have been searching for a while and can't find it. Thanks.

    , Apr 4th
  • There seem to be some points on there that aren't necessary to be 'expected'? e.g. joined up handwriting, openers, wow words for expected? It would be helpful if this was an exact copy of the descriptors on the ITAF.

  • This is a lovely resource but it would be even better if the sentence types each had their own tick box. It's too easy to tick it because they can write statements without ever writing a command or exclamative sentence. We saw this a lot in moderation.

These KS1 expectations are taken exactly as they are stated in the New Curriculum documentation that the UK government provides. You could use the editable version (available in the 'alternative versions box' to add more rows to the table for each sentence type.

      I hope this helps!
