  • For preparing Grade 2 students to write a letter which includes a couple of good questions as well as statements. Thank you for responding to my request. I could use this, but it would probably be more useful if it included statements and not commands.
    Thanks for your help.

    • Hey there,
      Thanks for commenting.
I can certainly see if we can change the commands to statements for you.
Alternatively, I can see if we can produce an editable version for you so that you can amend the text to meet your needs.
      Have a lovely day! :)

  • Some of the commands have exclamation marks. I know it's being picky, but is this likely to confuse things given the description of what constitutes exclamations?

    • Hi there,
The exclamation mark as a piece of punctuation does not necessarily demarcate an exclamation sentence, it can (and should) be used in a variety of sentence types to alter the tone of the sentence.

That being said, when in the early stages of teaching the differences between sentence types we can definitely understand how this may prove to be confusing so our lovely resource creation team have emailed you a version of this resource without exclamation marks - I hope you find it useful!

  • Would be awesome if these could include the Governments expectation that KS1 pupils know that exclamations start with 'how' & 'what'.
