  • Incorporating these in a blue balloon sack....aid colour recognition....might even use them to clap the syllables/segments of words; ID beginning and ending sounds; rhyming etc etc etc. depending on the age group of the children listening!

  • can anyone suggest the idea for teaching opposites, like big and small, white and black as I am quite new in teaching I have to teach through games I am k2 English teacher.

    • For colour opposites you could give children the different coloured balloons and ask them to find their opposite colour on the colour wheel, linking with complementary colours. There are some colour wheels here: http://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t-t-2412-colour-wheel It's more of an art focus, but gives the opportunity to look at the meaning of 'opposite', comparing opposite colours, opposite adjectives, to being physically opposite in position.
