    • Hi jl_clarke_2008, The fields have been divided up differently with little pebbles, so on this resource you have a whole field, one divided into halves and another into quarters. We've left it as a very open activity, but you probably want to give your class instructions as to how many of each animal to cut out and then stick on the halves or quarters sheet depending on the skill you're practising.
Or if you're not sticking them down they could explore what amount of animals they can divide into halves or quarters and what amounts won't work to see if they can spot a pattern. Hope this helps!

The fields have been divided up differently with little pebbles, so you have a whole field, one divided into halves and another into quarters. You could give each child a number of animals to split into halves or quarters and identify fractions of amounts, or they could use a mix of animals on the whole field and identify what fraction of the total they have of each animal. You could also use multiple copies of the whole field to divide the animals into thirds, fifths etc with a group. Limitless possibilities depending on the skill you are practising!
