  • I love this idea and would like to use it with my year 1s, however the arrays don't seem to match. In my school we teach an array as 3 x 5 (so 3 rows of 5). However the arrays are represented 5 x 3 (5 rows of 3). Would it be possible to be to have this change please? Thanks :)

  • This a great idea, but could the repeated additions be in 2s, 5s and 10s? For example, instead of 10 x 4 could it be 4 x 10 so that it would be 4 lots of ten so 10 + 10 + 10 + 10. At ks1 the majority cannot count in 4s, 6s etc. Great idea for a resource though!

  • Hi, when you download the sheet the repeated additions are the wrong way around. If it is 3 x 5 then that means 3 lots of 5 and should be recorded as 5 + 5 + 5 but you have recorded it as 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 which is actually 5 x 3.

    Could you please amend this.

      It seems that different curriculums use different ways of showing these calculations. We have the version you are looking for available for download. If you click the 'Reversed Version' icon just below the Download button you should get the resource you are looking for. Any further problems please get back in touch.

  • These seem to be the wrong way round
    2x10 should be 10 10 (2 lots of 10)
    10x2 would be 2 2 2 2 etc

  • Could this be altered so the groups are mixed up? So the children can cut out the different parts and match them without the need for teachers to cut them before the lesson!
