  • looks good - II'd use it to inquire into our place value system and deepening students understanding of base 10. i would use this as an introduction and have the students 'break the code'. I would also jigsaw it into sections and have them rebuild it. There is an nrich activity students have to work out how to solve a 100s board jigsaw of an alien number system so I'd link in with that activity to then compare to our place value base 10 system. Discuss why 5, 50 and powers of ten were a central device of this counting system.

  • There is an error in this resource.  There are two squares which say XXVI.  One should say XXXVI.

A Roman numerals 100 number square, useful to allow children's access to larger numbers. Great for use in various areas of the classroom.
