  • Looking forward to using the most up-to-date version in my Maths area.
Is there any chance of adding the different types of triangles: equilateral, scalene, isosceles, right angle, and some examples of irregular polygons?
I prefer the bunting style to the poster versions available, and the vocabulary is useful to display, even for my Year 5s.

  • Hi, Thank you this is another lovely resource! Would it be possible to extend it with some bunting for a trapezium and parallelogram please?
Also I believe octagon is spelt incorrectly!

    • Hi MariaF21,
Thanks for commenting :) There is an alternative version available to download which includes a trapezium but I will ask our design team to add parallelogram to this version too. The spelling mistake will also be changed right away - thanks for pointing this out to us! :)

  • Thanks. To reinforce 2d shape names with year 2. Despite the new curriculum, I'm leaving rectangle out at the moment! A square is a rectangle as is an oblong!

  • Hi. This looked a good resource for my new classroom - however I notice that the rectangle is called an oblong. In Scotland we call this a rectangle and I wouldn't want to introduce a different name to the children as all their resources also call it a rectangle. You know what I'm going to ask! Any chance of a copy with rectangle I. It?

    • Should really have done what we always tell the children to do - check it carefully! - I see there is already a 'rectangle' ;)

    • A rectangle is a shape with 4 right angles so an oblong is a rectangle as is a square.

  • Hi Twinkl, this is a great resource to reinforce shape names and properties, however your parallelogram looks like a rhombus to me. A rhombus has 4 equal sides and a parallelogram has 2 pairs of equal sides - doesn't it?

    • Hi mattcollins21, thanks for your comment! I have passed your query on to our resource designers who will look in to making the two shapes more distinguishable. :)

    • Hi mattcollins21,
I'm a resource designer at twinkl and I have now corrected this resource. The amended version will be up on the site soon but in the meantime I have emailed it over to you :-)

2D Shape Display Bunting

2D Shape Display Bunting - This great numeracy bunting features 10 flags each with a different 2D shape on it. The shapes included are: circle, rectangle, triangle, oval, octagon, square, heptagon, pentagon, oblong, and hexagon. Brilliant for brightening up your maths classroom and reinforcing these fundamental shapes.

(Helpful reminder: If you would rather not print the oblong flag then remember to change your print settings so they don't print page 10!)
This resource is available in Standard, Rhombus, Semi Circle And Trapezium, Cursive, Dyslexic and Precursive.
