  • I'm a tutor and I've recently started homeschooling a child who has only just started learning some basic maths. I really appreciate the resources created to save time, but for someone like myself, it really is a godsend as it helps enhance the learning in a creative and vivid way, which is perfect for homeschoolers. I will be using this today to recap on multiplication. Thanks x

  • I would prefer if the powerpoint allowed the children to work out the answer before revealing the number sentence and answer.

  • I would question if this resource is correct. For example, 4x2 when shown as a pictorial representation should be two groups of four because it is 4 multiplied 2 times. This resource shows the pictorial representation of 2x4 which is four groups of two because it is 2 multiplied 4 times.

    • Hi there,

Thanks for your comment on this resource.

We have found that the teaching of multiplication can vary and both ways of writing the multiplication are used differently by different schools and teachers.

This PowerPoint is available to edit so that it can be changed in line with your own teaching or school policy.

I hope this helps - have a lovely evening! :)

This PowerPoint is fantastic for looking at how to multiply using objects to support the children's understanding.
