  • Disappointed that the preview of the resource seems nothing like the actual powerpoint - I would like a "What am I?" reveal-style quiz, but all it seems to be, when I download it, is a list of slides describing each shape's properties. Does the preview need updating?

    • Hi calvarado,
I apologise if this mistake has caused any problems. I'll let our design team know about it right away and they will make sure the resource matches the preview :)

    • Hi there,
This resource is intended as a factual PowerPoint presentation - we have a version that is more of a "reveal-style quiz" available here:
      http://twinkl.co.uk/resource/t2-m-397-what-am-i-3d-shape-properties-powerpoint

I hope you find it useful!

  • A rectangle does not have two long and two short sides! This is a misconception which I'm trying to avoid. So disappointed with this.

    • Hi LaunceY3,
Thank you so much for getting in touch! It's lovely to hear from you :) As this is a Key Stage 1 resource, we use the term "rectangle" to describe the quadrilateral with 4 right angles. If you would like us to amend this resource if it does not meet your needs, please let me know. I would be happy to request a change for you.

    • I'm happy having KS1 describing a rectangle to describe a quadrilateral with four right angles. But rectangles don't have two long and two short sides and that's what it says on the PowerPoint. I've made my own one now though so thank you anyway. We just need to be careful that we're not teaching misconceptions as they are hard to unteach. I'm in Y3 and have two thirds of a class who think a rectangle must have two long and two short!

I've taken a look at this resource here and it seems to be working okay. Can you take a look and be sure to click on 'enable editing' at the top of the page? if you then put the Powerpoint into Slideshow mode you should be able to use it :) Just let me know if it still doesn't work :)

  • I would really like something like this but for upper KS2 involving all 2D shapes including different quadrilaterals, triangles etc. as well as irregular shapes thrown in there to really test their understanding of shape properties. I can't find anything like this - am I looking in the wrong place?

  • Really good for revising shape properties!

    , Jan 28th
Perfect for the whole class to join in, this What Am I quiz is a fantastic addition to your maths lessons! With hints you can look at before revealing the answer, this is a great way to see if the children can recognise and name different shapes without being told the answer!
