what is on our local area

Do you have anything similar for a walk where we will be looking at physical geography features? We did this observation sheet on our local walk in our town and the children loved it. We will be visiting a reservoir in the hills/countryside next week and would love something similar for a comparison! With features like: hills, rocks, cattlegrid, meadow, reservoir, woodland, stream, gate, road, picnic bench, farm. Thanks :)

      Hi yewtree16,
Thank you for getting in touch with your resource suggestion! Everyday here at Twinkl we get thousands of requests for new resources. Due to the large numbers, we are unable to make all of the resources requested. If we can make your resource we will be in touch to let you know, though we cannot guarantee when it will be completed. If there is anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to get in touch! Have a great day :)

These resources will be very helpful, They'll "fill in gaps" for resources we don't already have. They'll provide independent activities, eg the models of the houses. I might sent the wordsearch home, for the chn to complete there and then explain what the different building are to an adult - or draw in their hone learing books.I'll use the vocab and pictures for wall displays.
These are just the right pitch for year 1. Thank you!

I will add these to the observations we do on our local area outing where we are looking at different types of houses and their features. Some can be mounted for display when the parents visit for our Exhibition.

Great to support our WOW day; children then used the info to tally home in the local environment.

Lovely to help children with understanding that there are different types of buildings.
I used it to make a 3D tally display :D

    Hi there,
Thanks for adding the mosque in this particular resource. This is the first time i have seen a mosque in a resource. Great work

  • Dec 1st

Just a valid query, why a mosque and not a church, in a church of England country. please? If we're doing religion, please let's properly represent religion... Otherwise, fabulous.

Also a synagogue and a Hindu temple since we have children from different faiths in our schools, especially in regards to the international aspect of the IPC. Thanks in advance!

Can't wait to use this resource on my final placement. I think it will be a great way to get to know the children outside the usual classroom environment.
