  • Great Resource for my LA reception children, would love a version with no more than 4 pictures for my SEN children though, is this possible? !

  • Could you do a more simple sequencing page, there are too many pictures and for my year ones, too many to lose and mix up in the cut and stick process when working independently. Id like a very simple SEN version too, one of the pigs leaving home then building or blowing the straw, stick and brick houses and ending. With schools limiting photocopying there are too many pages for copying. I like my independent gps to do something like this while I focus on my guided gp writing the story. Fab resources by the way!!!

    • Hi that would be fab, 6 pictures on one page is more than enough for Year 1 children, they can colour them in then stick them in the right order and then add key words or a simple sentence, three or four for sen is ample. Sometimes I try and cut them out myself and stick them on a sheet for photocopying by missing out stages but if you could do that it saves me a job!!! A page with boxes in to paste the pictures on to would be great, 6 boxes numbered 1-6 with a space under each pic to add a label/key word /short sentence would be a great bonus!!! We always use sequencing activities for independent jobs.

    • just to clarify, one page with all the pictures from the story that they need to sequence on (6 is more than enough at 5 years old). If children have to cut pictures out we end up with them losing one or two. I prefer B and W as we have colour limits at work for our yr gps and I cant afford to print them off at home for 30 kids!

I have created both the Simplified and SEN versions as requested, I have emailed them to you and they should also be on the site as soon as possible.

These handy story sequencing sheets are great for increasing and assessing familiarity with the main events in this story as well as for starting discussions about the different key points and story structure. Featuring lovely hand drawn images of the different scenes, your children have the opportunity to practise putting the story in order before telling it themselves!
