    This is just what I was looking for! I will have the students draw their portrait on the first day of school and cut them out. We will then put them on a bulletin board with a paper cut out book shape covering the bottom portion of the face. It should look like the children are peeking out over the books. They will use a dry erase marker to change their own book titles as they read a new book.

    In counseling, the blank face can be given to a child to draw the different "masks" he/she may wear in different situations. Later, the differences can be discussed, ultimately leading to recognizing their true self and learning how to be authentic in all situations.
