  • Our year 1 daughter enjoyed this with help. The maths was fine, but the wording of the clues was quite complicated. However, before completing the last clue we were only left with 1 answer so the last clue wasn't needed. It would be more fun if 2 suspects were left after clue 4 e.g. if Esther East wore a watch.

  • I have started using this with my able year 1s. It would be great to have an editable version so that i could change some of the numbers and the others could join in without realising they have a different task.

  • There is an error in the main sheet. On Clue 4, the number 29 is included twice in the bottom table, giving you the words 'not' and 'crime' to add to the answer. This meant my son came up with the sentence 'a pair of glasses was not found at the crime scene' when the answers say it should be 'a pair of glasses was found at the crime scene'. All his answers to the maths sums were correct but this error meant he was left with Dominika Peters and Gemma Baines as his suspects. He was a little upset to not solve the crime when his maths had been right. A great idea but please can someone correct the mistake?

This fantastic educational game is a great way for KS1 children to practise their numeracy skills, and solve a range of clues to unmask the egg smasher of Eggleton Village!
