Five Little Ducks PowerPoint

Five Little Ducks PowerPoint - This powerpoint features the classic children's nursery rhyme 'Five Little Ducks' with lovely hand drawn images to illustrate it. Use it to help demonstate the use of rhyme, or to teach counting on, couting back, basic addition and subtraction. Make it interactive by having five children stand in a row, and motion swimming away as it's their turn to "go swimming" while the class sings along together. Use this to show number bonds to five, or increase the number of children to show higher number bonds. Alternatively use it to start discussions about life cycles, health and safety and why it's important to always make sure an adult is around asking questions such as "Why do you think mother duck was sad?" and "Was it safe for the baby ducks to go swimming on their own?" Nursery rhymes are also great for reinforcing letters and sounds, have your children learn the rhyme together using the powerpoint, and then read it out loud sounding out each key word and talking about the different phonemes.
