  • Hi. I'm making my own button literacy cards to match vocabulary in "The Lost Button" chapter in Arnold Lobel's "Frog and Toad are Friends." I found the cards very easy to add text to. I could change the font style, point size, and text color with no issues.  For the buttons, I deleted the ones that were offered because I found them difficult to manipulate. The offered buttons were usually not in the right location to match my chosen word's syllables and their shape often altered when I tried to move them to the correct location. So I deleted all offered buttons. I easily created a single new button. I used different fill colors to represent long or short vowels. Red for short vowels. Yellow for long vowels.  When I want a button, I simply copy and paste the originally created button, changing the fill color to match the length of the vowel. Thank you for this excellent teaching material. It exactly matches a recently identified literacy need of one of my second grade English language learners.
