  • Hi! We really like using these to assess our children's progress but I have noticed that the answer for Q10 in test 5 doesn't match the question in the test. I don't know if it's just my copy or if it's on all? Thanks.

    • Good afternoon!
I've checked Test 5 Question 10 and the resource seems fine to me here. I've email you a copy of the resource just in case you had a previous version that had not been updated. I hope this helps! :)

  • We use these in my school to help inform our assessments. But I've noticed test 5 question 9 has a spelling mistake. The multiple choice answer says 'pural' instead of 'plural'.Also question 4, should the 'S' for sandwich be lower case?

    Thanks

    • Only question 4s mistake has been changed. Question 9 is still 'pural' in the options.
      Thanks

  • Hi all :)
Just to clarify, according to the DfE in the English glossary, an adverbial can be made of, 'prepositional phrases and subordinate clauses'.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings!

    Have a lovely day :)

  • Many of the fronted adverbials are not fronted adverbials as they contain verbs. It's a contentious issue, but the distinction is crucial to make for children of this age.

    • Hi nat_death,
Thank you so much for letting us know about this one. I'll get this resource checked right away!

      , Mar 20th
    • Hello again nat_death - I have checked this resource with our teachers and the DfE states that a fronted adverbial is something that modifies and adds detail about the action in a main clause, but does not specify that verbs shouldn't be included, although often they are not. I hope this helps, and thanks for taking the time to get in touch :)

  • Hello! Love these in theory but test one asks about relative pronouns. I'm fairly sure this is for year 5. In Year 4 we just do possessive pronouns I think.

  • Thank you so much for producing a set of these with no year group on them.  I work with children who are not achieving the expected level so previously I have had to download the tests for younger children and tippex out the year group so they do not get demoralised!  Also, in the "no year label version" there is a random poster abut type 1 diabetes which comes with the tests!  Just thought you might like to know!  Thank you again

    , Jan 8th
    • Hi Hanrabbit,
Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you. Thank you for the information about the diabetes poster too. I will arrange for it to be removed. :)

  • Fab, thanks. It's been taking a while to produce these by myself so appreciate the quality and quantity.

  • I love these assessments but I use them (and others from your site) with children who are not at the expected level for their age. Is there any way you can remove the year group number at the top. Currently what I do is print off one, tippex out the year group and then copy. It's a bit soul destroying for a Year 5 child to see that they are doing at Year 3 assessment! Thanks
