  • I think this will be a useful resource for the children to use when they are writing independently. Most of the powerful verbs are great but some of the synonyms for scared are adjectives. Would it be possible to make the document editable?

This helpful word mat provides children with alternative verbs to use to improve their writing. Children can refer to the mat while composing or editing their work, swapping 'said' for 'whispered' and 'ate' for 'devoured'. This a great way to help children independently improve their own work.
