  • I have a number of pupils Year 5 and 6 pupils who have English as an additional language, yet function at a high level of literacy. A significant weakness in their work is their use of the more unusual verbs. I think that this game could be a good introducer and reinforcer.
However, if you were able to produce these on a word mat in a table format with the past tense in one column and the present tense in the next: the children could then independently check their work where an error has been identified by themselves, a talk-partner or marking.
    Is this possible?
