  • I am really pleased to see a package on Latitude, Longitude and Time Zones. However, I do not understand WHY you have a map of the time zones of the World with a range of different CITIES marked on it - and then the accompanying task sheet asks the children to find the times in various PLACES - such as Chile! Apart from the fact that Year 5 children have not got this level of knowledge about where places are in the World, the task itself should have related to the CITIES that were already shown on the map. I think this would be far more logical - and is something that should be changed for future use. Thanks!

  • This resource is just what I need for a quick review of last term's learning before moving on. The end of unit assessment in December showed that some children had not fully understood the importance of the relationship of the Earth and the sun and how this meant that some regions had four distinct seasons but those closer to the equator did not. Also, some were mixing up latitude and longitude. Using it with a mixed aged class of year 5 and 6 and need them to understand before continuing with the climate and physical features of South America.

  • Starting our life in the freezer topic.
Could vocab cards be added with the different key words - tropic of cancer, equator etc. They could then be placed next to a world map with ribbon for the children to point to the correct places.
