  • I too am noticing several errors in the mark scheme that in some cases have no relevance and do not match up to the questions to the questions

  • My class have just completed this paper and we were very disappointed with the quality of the questions. They are poorly written and did nothing to help my class. The mark scheme is wrong on several occasions and it seems that even though many people have noticed this before you have not done anything about it. We have used many of your resources before and found them very useful, however this resource is poor in comparison.

  • I have downloaded both the normal and higher ability 3b and they are identical. I have noted an earlier reply to state there are subtle differences and the questions which are different but they aren't. When downloading the normal version the temporary file name shows as HA for both normal and HA - is this just me or are they linking to the wrong file?

  • Is there a spread sheet to go with these papers?

    • Hi debs_kellaway,
That's a good idea! I'll ask our teacher team about this for you :)

  • I was a little disappointed with 3b, it doesn't seem to be your usual standard. Several of the questions (including the height one- 18b) were badly written and very difficult to understand. There was no mention of rounding in q9. Question 12 wasn't clear and has a spelling mistake - ration instead of ratio.
q4, there is no mention as to whether it is to scale or not - when you measure the given angle it is to scale.

Over all not the standard I've come to expect from you.

  • Hi,
There are errors on both papers.
Paper 1 has errors on the measurements on Q2 and the answers to the co-ordinates on q19 are also incorrect.
Paper 2 has errors with the measurement on Q9. The length of the side measures 6.7cm not 7cm to make your answer correct.
    Thanks

  • On test 3a, the children spotted that number 14 asks them to reflect in a line that is horizontal, however the line is actually vertical. Thank you for your time, Mrs S and year 6

  • Paper 3B Question 6- the division question is different from the printed answer. The question in its current form (6?4? divided by 5?2 = 9) is actually impossible, and wasted a lot of time when trying to complete in a timed practice session.

    • Hi hhoganfleming,
Thank you for commenting! I've had a look at this resource for you and it seems to have been corrected. I hope this helps! :)

  • Hi, Thank you for producing these resources. I find these papers very useful for revision. However on paper 3B I have found a few issues. Q9 - the shape does not measure the measurements in the answer. It is mm's out, which when asking for accurate measurement from the children makes the calculation much more difficult than intended. In the answer sheet Q12 answer is 240 sharpeners, which doesn't match the question. Also Q13b we got the answer 14,000,000.

    • These tests are differentiated subtly, with extra information omitted and or added between the versions, as well as slightly different wording of the questions. The affected questions on test 3a are 5, 17, 19 and 20; and on test 3b they are 6, 7, 13, 17, 20 and 21.

      , Apr 22nd
  • Question 10 of paper 3a is ambiguous without a scale. Each pizza could represent any multiple of 4.

10b required intervention to tell the children which pizzas were vegetarian and which were meat.
