  • This is a lovely resource but would love to add a few more composers as they are the main focus of the timeline.  Could we have four in each historical period? I'm not fussy about which ones, but perhaps the following could be added:Baroque - Purcell, (Haydn needs to be swapped to Classical)Classical - Haydn + SchubertRomantic - Wagner + Mendelssohn + Robert SchumannModern - Stravinsky + Gershwin + Britten + ProkofievContemporary - Bernstein + John Williams + Boulez + MessiaenI realise it's a big ask but this resource is so close to being perfect for my needs! Thanks.

  • This is a really attractive resource but, as I move around classes, it would be even more useful if there was a version that could be displayed on the Smartboard.Thanks.

  • This is a great resource. I plan to display this and move through the timeline over the term. It's a great guide as to what to cover.

    • Hi meldunford,

Thank you for your comment on the Twinkl website.

I was wondering if you could provide a few more details about what you'd like to see on this resource? Ideally, what would you like added?

      I hope you have a lovely day! : )

    • Dear Emma,

My exact thoughts. Maybe few composers from the Renaissance period? Tallis, Byrd, Lassus, Palestrina to mention few. The opera as genre arose this period (and developed).
From the Classical period Haydn isn't mentioned at all but he was quite important.

Could these possibly be added to the timeline, please?

      Thank you in advance,
      Reka

  • A fabulous resource. Took me hours (literally) last summer to create my own. Yours in so much better. Thank you so much. Now can we have a display resource for each of the mentioned composers please. Again I started creating my own from information collected on Google; factual but not very children friendly. Would be great to have differentiated comprehension activities for each to; cross curricular guided reading. Maybe key features of the music created within a musical era? Keep them coming please...
