  • Hi, was wondering how this scale was worked out?
If the moon is 6783 miles from the Earth and this is about 20cm, how do the children work out how far the sun is? Apart from knowing that it is 93 million miles away? I'm a bit confused.
    Would appreciate the help! Thanks

    • Hi there,

Thanks for your comment. I've taken a look into this and it looks like the circumference of the moon is 6783 miles and its distance from the Earth is 253,000 miles.

I'd just like to make sure that the calculations and answers in the PowerPoint are correct so please leave this with me and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can!

      Have a lovely evening :)
