This is the first lesson of the topic ‘Safe Practice in Dance’, which consists of 2 lessons that can be used at the beginning of any PE (Dance) units at KS3. It can also be used as an introduction to anatomy and physiology. This unit is an introduction to safe dance practices and allows students to experiment with body movements. Students perform and create movement/dance sequences relative to their own bodies’ skeletal and muscular limitations and capabilities, engaging in activities individually, in pairs and as part of a group. Includes activity sheets, a PowerPoint presentation and a practical guide booklet.
