  • I've checked this resource and it all appears to be working okay. On opening the resource, our lovely designers have added some instructions about how to use the spreadsheet. If you need any extra pointers just let us know :)

  • Silly question but where is the 'enable editing' button?

    , Nov 24th
    • Hi there Amy,
You will need to download the document first, then you should be given the option to enable editing, which will allow you to add data as you wish.
      Hope this helps:)
      Have a lovely Thursday

  • I am having problems with this resource.  I type in the child's name and then go to the tab and press it.  It takes me to the correct cell.  However, it will not accept any data that I try to put in.  My husband (a computer soft wear engineer) has tried to sort it and it still doesnt work!  Please will you suggest further steps.  Thank you.The problem I am having means that I am unable to rate it anything other than just one star as I cant use it.

    • Hi aviva123,
Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you :) I'm sorry you're having problems with this resource. Are you entering all your class names first on the register page? If so, then you should be able to select the tab you want and enter the correct numerical value in the box under areas of learning. I have opening it up and it seems to be working OK. Let me know if it doesn't work if you do it in this order :)

I am having problems getting this set up. I have inputted the names but can't seem to get any further>

    • Hi Lucys73,

Thanks for your comment, it's great to hear from you!
When you have inputted your names on the master sheet, if you then use the tabs at the bottom to select your area of learning, the names should be displayed on this sheet, too. Click into each statement to give it a numerical code - entering a '1' will award an 'emerging' level, '2' awards a 'developing' level and '3' awards a 'secure' level. The cell will automatically change colour to indicate the level entered. An incorrect entry will result in the cell staying white and indicates that it needs correcting. Entering data will provide overall percentages of the class at each level. Additionally, calculations are performed to show the percentage of children secure for all statements in each month band.
Please get back in touch if you are still having issues: )

  • Can you enter the children's age? Whether they are SEN/PP etc?  I can't seem to find a tab to do this? Headteachers would require all this info. It would be a much more comprehensive assessment if it did this. Thank you

    • Hi there,
We now have this EYFS Profile Assessment Spreadsheet resource (http://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/tf-pa-030-eyfs-profile-assessment-spreadsheet) available that tracks the ELGs (although not the individual month bands) and allows you to enter data for age, pupil premium and much more. I hope you find it useful!

  • Hi,

When I'm putting my children in the register, not all the names are appearing in the assessment sections. Its missing out whichever child is in space 2 at the moment.

Thanks for getting in touch! We're just looking into this for you and we'll get back to you as soon as we can! :)

    • Hello again :) When you are putting the children's names in the register, are you entering them individually or copy and pasting a list? Copy and paste is not supported in the register tab and may yield unexpected results. I look forward to hearing back from you :)

  • Please could I have a copy of the 30-50 onwards version. I can't seem to find it in alternative versions. Would also be interested in a version to record baseline/autumn/spring/summer (as someone else has previously commented) when available please. :-) Thank you.

    • Hi there,
Our resource creation team are still working on versions of this resource that target specific month brackets, however in the mean time we do have the 'advanced version' in the alternative versions box that can track across terms. I hope you find it useful!

  • This resource looks fab although I have a couple of problems at the moment...
Firstly it only shows 6 children, even though I have entered 30. I can't find a way to see the others.
Also the percentages for all sections which I have block filled as 3 (I'm still going through the earlier stages and filling) show 20%boys and 20%girls, where it should clearly be 100%.
Please help as I would love to use this, it looks fab! Thank you

    • Hi Teacherclairem,
Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you :)
I've just had a look at this resource and it seems to be working okay for me here. Have you downloaded the resource recently? There were some errors on the resource a while ago, which have now been fixed, so if you downloaded it a while ago, you may need to re-download the spreadsheet and start again with it. With regards to the children not showing up on your register - can you make sure that after every child's name is entered you press return? The screen will then flicker a few times. This ensures the child's name will be on every sheet in the spreadsheet. If you're still experiencing difficulties, let me know and I can take another look :) Have a lovely day!

    • Hi there,
The 'advanced' version available in the alternative versions box has ways to differentiate between different groups, such as gender and term of birth. I hope you find it useful!

      , Sep 12th
  • Hi,
I have seen that some people have commented below about a version that starts from 30-50 to ELG rather than birth as well as one that contains for information about the child including SEN, EAL and PP I cant seem to find this as an alternative. Could you point me in the right direction or email me a copy like you have to others?
Also just wondering if you will be developing one that you can input on baseline, then autumn data, spring data and summer data?

    Thanks

  • Hi!
When I enter test data for 5 children -3 boys and 2 girls. Each child is 20% of the total cohort of 5 children.
I am working in PSED Sc and A.
On the right under 'emerging, developing, secure' I get high percentages in the male and female boxes.
I see 300% of boys at developing and 600% of boys at secure; 200% of girls at developing and 200% at secure. I don't think this is correct.
I also have 400% winter born. Two children of the 5 are marked winter born = 40%

Thank you for spotting this! Our lovely teacher and design teams have fixed the mistake and emailed the corrected resource to you! It will also be updated on the website very soon - I hope you find it useful!

  • Hi, I have written below about getting hold of a 30-50/40-60/ELG version of this only, but I'm also wondering whether it's possible to get a version in which you can compare progress over a statement in autumn, winter, spring etc? So rather than just having a 1/2/3 for each statement, there's a tab to see where the child was in each term? Thank you so much!

    • Hi emerlilly,
Thank you for your fantastic resource suggestion! Due to the large numbers of requests we receive every day, we are unable to make all of the resources requested. If we can make your resource we will be in touch to let you know, though we cannot guarantee when it will be completed. If there is anything else I can help with, please let me know! Have a great day :)

    • Hi Lucy, I totally understand. Would it be possible at all to get the 30-50/40-60/ELG statement version, which you said had been created for another member below?

      , Jul 15th
    • Hi there, I have sent a request through to the design team for you now. If this is possible then the team will get back in touch with you. Have a lovely day :)

  • This is great, but some of the pages are blank (writing and utw I think!) Also, could there be the changes made mentioned below (from Ellie_Ford and banana82)

    Thanks

    , Jul 11th
    • Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. I have just checked the document and there are no blank pages for either writing or any of the UTW pages. All you need to do is open the tab up and scroll to the top of the page. Then you will be able to see the information. The changes that have been suggested are currently being looked at by the design team. If you have any further questions about this resource, please do get back in touch. Have a lovely day :)

  • Looks great for next year! Is there any way that we can add more information about each child (i.e. boy/girl, autumn/spring/summer born/ EAL/SEN) and then use this to analyse each group's percentage against each other? Will make EYFS Co-coordinator report really easy to write using this tool!

  • Brilliant....looking forward to using this next year. Is it possible to get rid of the birth-11, 8-20mths, 16-26 mths, 22-36mths so that I can use it from the beginning of reception without having all the unnecessary age brackets? Also, analysis of boys/girls development in each area if possible?? Thank you :-)

  • Hello lovely Twinklers!

We've had a few comments about how to use this resource so here are a few tips if you're having some trouble using the features!

A full list of instructions is available on the 'Register' tab but please make sure that you click 'Enable Editing' so that you can enter your class' data. You will then have to select 'Enable Content' at the top of the sheet. If a box appears which requires a password, click OK then make sure you on click on 'Review' along the top tabs and then 'Unprotect Sheet'.

This will enable all of the features of the spreadsheet to work correctly! If there are any further queries about this, please do let us know! Have a lovely day :)

I'm very sorry to hear that you are having issues with this resource. Could you please take a screen shot of any error messages that are appearing and email them over to info@twinkl.co.uk so I can look into this for you. EYFS Seven Areas of Learning Assessment Spreadsheet

EYFS Seven Areas of Learning Assessment Spreadsheet - A very useful Excel spreadsheet that enables you to record and track progress for each child in your class or setting for each of the seven areas of learning. All statements for each month band are included, from birth to the exceeding ELG level descriptors. Once data has been entered, overall percentages for each child, as well as the whole group of children are automatically calculated for each age band. Additionally, calculations are performed to show the percentage of children secure for all statements in each month band. There are also other handy functions such as block fill and auto delete – a super helpful and time saving resource!
