  • HI, is there a version of this that you can use to track children across the year? So you can add to it on entry, autumn, spring and summer rather than having a new one every term? Thanks

    • Hi Jcookson93,
Thank you so much for getting in touch! It's lovely to hear from you :) I've asked out lovely EYFS teachers to look into whether this is something we can do. We will be back in touch!

    • Hi Jcookson93,

  • Hi, I've updated my data and I've clicked generate data. All tabs are green but when I click on the some of the tabs the information is incorrect, for example female names appear in the data for the stats male pupils and the same for the stats female pupils (males appearing in the data). I've checked that I have the correct information in the register tab. Am I doing something wrong or is this an error?
    Thanks

In the alternative versions box there is a version with a help video - could you take a look at this version and see if it makes things a bit clearer? If you're still having trouble with this, just let us know and send over a screenshot and we'll have another look :)

  • What a great resource!  I've managed to download it using a different computer. One thing that is puzzling me and making it harder to use is the order of the 17 areas of learning.  Within the EYFSP handbook and end of year data we are required to submit, Communication and Language appears first, PSED are areas 6 (self-confidence and self-awareness), 7 (managing feelings and behaviour) and 8 (making relationships).   However you have listed the first three areas as PSED, in the following order - Making Relationships, Self-confidence and self-awareness and Managing Feelings and Behaviour.  This has resulted in the data taking much longer to input as it is in a totally different order to any other data I have collected and is also in a different order to the order in which I need to present and submit it.  Is there any way to change the order of the data - even if just to reorder the three PSED strands?  Thank you

    • Hi there,
Thank you for your comments. As you have already filled in your data, I am going to email our IT support team for some advice about this and ask if there is anyway to change the order of the areas of learning within this document. We will be in touch with you soon. :)

      , May 2nd
    • Hi there teacherclairem - although we wouldn't be able to make this spreadsheet editable (in that the areas of learning could be re-ordered by the user) we are looking at which order the areas appear in, as you suggested :) Thanks so much for your feedback on this!

      , May 3rd
    • Thanks for the swift replies. I have only entered some of the data so I think I will wait and what happens before entering all of it. Thanks again

      , May 3rd
    • Hi Teacherclairem,
Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad we could help! Our Design Team will be in touch with you soon to let you know with reordering the areas is possible.

  • Hi,
I have watched the video but am still having issues with this resource.  Each time I open it I get a message telling me there is unreadable content in the spreadsheet and giving me the option of trying to recover it.  When I click 'yes' to try to recover it the computer then tells me that 'The workbook cannot be opened or repaired by Microsoft Excel because i is corrupt'.
    Thank you

    • Hi Teacherclairem,

I've taken a look at this and it appears to open and display properly for me here. Our Help Centre should provide a solution but I will also send a copy of the resource through to you. If you're still having trouble, let me know and I'll have another look at this right away!

    • Hi there Teacherclairem - I have spoken to the design team about this resource and they have advised you will need to ensure that when you open the spreadsheet, you click 'enable editing' and 'enable content' in the yellow bar towards the top of the spreadsheet.

When you have put your data into the 'register' and 'data' tabs, you will need to click on the blue 'Generate Stats' button in order to transfer the data across to the other tabs of the spreadsheet. When you have clicked this, the tabs which contain the data you required will turn green whereas any irrelevant tabs will remain red.

If you do find that you are still having difficulty using the resource please do get in touch again and we can take another look. Have a lovely day!

      , Apr 10th
    • Sadly though as I cannot open it I can't see the option to 'enable editting' or 'enable content'. I have also emptied my cache etc to see if that helps as well. My school is hoping to use this as an assessment tool across the school for next year so I hoping to have a look now to get ahead of the game! I'll try another computer next week to see if that helps.

    • Hi there,
Our lovely design team have looked into adapting this resource so it can compare data across multiple terms but unfortunately it will not currently be possible.

In the meantime, you could have different copies of the spreadsheet for spring, summer etc. and compare across them. I hope this helps!

    • Hi there RyanKettle21,
We've made this resource for you and have sent it in an email, I hope you find it useful! It will also be available for download within 48 hours, and you can find it either as a new resource, or under 'Alternative versions' above.

  • Hi there everyone,
Thank you all so much for your comments on this resource. This resource has now been fixed and works without any issues.

You will need to ensure that when you open the spreadsheet, you click 'enable editing' and 'enable content' in the yellow bar towards the top of the spreadsheet.

If you do find that you are still having difficulty using the resource please take a look at our lovely help video which you can download from underneath the pink download button.

Have a lovely day everyone! :)

Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you :) I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with this resource. Have you tried the Help Video under the pink 'download' button? Let me know if you are still struggling :)

    • Hi greatwoodfs,
Thank you so much for letting us know about this one. I've checked this resource again and seem to be having the same problem. I've asked our resource team about this for you and someone will be in touch as soon as this has been looked into. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing you and I hope you have a lovely day! :)

    • Hey there Sara. I have now been informed that this resource has now been fixed. I've checked it myself and it is working just fine. When you open the spreadsheet, please ensure that you 'Enable editing' and 'Enable content' which will appear as a yellow bar towards the top of the page. If you could then have a go at filling in the register for me and then go onto the data tab that would be great. When you go to the data tab, the names should now automatically be transferred across. Our lovely help video might also be useful to help you fill in the rest of the spreadsheet. You can donwload it from underneath the pink download button. Please let me know if you have any further problems with this resource and have a lovely day! :)

      , Sep 19th
  • Lovely resource. I am having issues with transferring the register onto the data sheet. Please could you advise me how to do this? Also, how do you record emerging, expected. exceeding - is it just a colour exercise?

    • Hi elmb77,
Thank you very much for commenting! It's great to hear from you. There is a version with a help video available below the main download button, which should be useful for you. Thanks for your comment, it's great to hear from you!

We have many wonderful resources on the Twinkl site so I was wondering if you could provide a few more details about the resources you're looking for?

      I hope you have a lovely day! : )

    • Hi,
I am looking for a tracker with the tabs for different groups, exactly the same as this but with the key stage 1 curriculum. Also I've tried to use this for EYFS but when I enter the children's names they are not showing up on the data tab but they are on the other tabs such as girls, boys etc. Is there anyway of fixing this so I don't have to type the names in again? Thank you :)

      , Sep 13th
    • Hi sarastreet,
Thank you for your fantastic resource suggestion! Due to the large numbers of requests we receive every day, we are unable to make all of the resources requested. If we can make your resource we will be in touch to let you know, though we cannot guarantee when it will be completed. If there is anything else I can help with, please let me know! Have a great day :)

      , Sep 13th
    • Hi sarastreet,
We will also make sure that the data tab is working correctly for you :) Our lovely Design Team will be in touch soon! Have a good evening.

  • Hi, is there a version available that has the same amount of information about each child but is for the development matters descriptors leading up to the Early Learning Goal where you can just put from a drop down if the child is 30-50L, 30-50S or 30-50H etc for that strand? And so you can input data 4 times a year?

    Thanks

    , Sep 10th
  • Hi,

There aren't any tabs at the bottom of the spread sheet when I open up the main version or the simple Excel version. I have watched the help video but the document doesn't look the same as that one when I open it up, even after enabling editing and enabling content. Is it something to do with the version I have on my laptop? I have Excel 2010?

Any help appreciated as the spread sheet looks great!

    Thanks

    • Hi HelenRatcliff,
      Thanks for getting in touch!

When you open this resource and go to the 'ELG" tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet, you should then be able to click in the relevant boxes and then enter your data. If you are not able to do this, please ensure that you have enabled editing for this resource(there may be a yellow bar at the top of the screen and a box which says 'enable editing). If you could take a look at this for me and let me know if you are still having issues, that would be great.
      Have a lovely evening! :)

  • Brilliant! Just what I have been looking for and perfect for pupil progress and data analysis. The only thing missing for me is analysis against gender eg. number of girls/boys achieved expected or above in each area. I know it's just a case of putting the right formula in the right boxes but am not sure how to work out the formula. Is there anyone who could help me with this please?

An extremely useful Excel spreadsheet that enables you to record ELG assessment scores for each child in your class or setting. It automatically calculates a number of useful functions such as percentages of the class achieving emerging, expected or exceeding for each goal and also whether the Good Level of Development has been achieved. It also calculates statistics for gender, FSM, SEND, LAC, pupil premium, birth season, EAL and Vulnerable Groups. Full instructions on how to use the spreadsheet are contained on the first tab of the resource. There is also a help video which guides you through how to use it - this can be found as an alternative version beneath the download button.
This resource is available in Standard, Simple Excel and Help Video.
