In this lesson the children learn about the prophet Muhammad and how he founded Islam. They find out about the role of the caliphate and the first four caliphs after Muhammad and explore how and why the Muslim people first split into Sunni and Shia Muslims. There is the opportunity to act in role to debate who should be the next caliph after Muhammad and the chance to produce a caliph recruitment poster.
