  • This power point is full of misinformation.  Except for denning mother polar bears, these bears do not live in a cave.  They do not hibernate, ever.  Polar bears would die if they only had fish to eat.  They need the rich fat from seals in order to survive.  A polar bear often has to go many months without eating as they wait for the sea ice to come in so they can go out to hunt for seals.

    • I had already made the same complaints--I was told that the incorrect information was not important because this was only for dramatic purposes. I was, and remain, dismayed.

  • I love this and want to use it as a lesson opener to help the children to recall what a polar bear does etc. Could you make a word mat just for polar bears with words linked to this story to help the children? Thanks in advance

A brilliant drama story resource for KS1 on the daily life of a polar bear. Get your children up and performing as polar bears waking up from a long winter sleep.  A memorable way for your class to recall the life of these beautiful creatures.
