  • Just a thought... Having been moderated last year in all three subjects, the end of Year 2 expectation is for children to be reading gold book band level books. Lime level is also seen as one of the indicators that a child is now reading at 'Greater Depth'. This chart, therefore, seems to be pitching it's desired end of year book band levels one step too high.

    • I believe that red and yellow are Reception expected, beyond is exceeding.

      These expectations are generalised averages - however they may differ from school to school and area to area so our lovely design team have made an editable version for you to adapt. It will be available here in the 'Alternative versions' box very soon!

  • really helpful resource...could the end of year expectation for Reception also be put on? This will help both reception teachers and Year 1 teachers accurately judge where their children should be. thank you
