  • To teach chn in Reception about halving and to recap doubling (so the chn do not forget what they have been learning about the previous week about doubling). It's good for children to see the link between doubling and halving. This can be used as a focus activity with a small grp or as an introduction during plenary to show chn how to use it, then left out in the provision.

  • Hi I've tried printing the editable version of this resource and it goes off the edge of the page. I have tried making the actual image smaller and a textbox comes up saying that my margins are too small to there any other way to print this resource without these problems?! Thanks :)

  • Thank-you very much. I have managed to download the halving and doubling board game. I found I had to insert a text box to enable me to type a number into one of the hexagons, even though I had saved it as another name, but that's not a problem. Again, thanks.

  • I couldn't find the 'simple instructions' so we played to our own rules! The children took turns to roll the dice, move that number of spaces. If they answered correctly they stayed on that space, or went back to the space they'd come from if incorrect.

A lovely doubling and halving themed board game! Follow the simple instuctions to see who will win. Great for encouraging turn-taking, as well as practising counting skills.
