  • Is there any chance you could make a second test in exactly the same format that uses different words? My children have taken this one already and after some revision, I'd like to show that they've made progress!

    • Hi Chessy2,

Thank you for your resource suggestion on the Twinkl website!

Because of the nature of these tests, our design team are unable to make this resource editable at present.

I hope you have a lovely evening!

  • I used this as a revision after introducing hyphens to the class. It is not an easy work sheet and the word re-treat was not in the dictionary with the hyphen in it. I took it to mean a re-treat that people would go on to recover e.g to mediate etc. Is that how others would use this word?

    • Hi SallySymes,

Thank you for your comment on the Twinkl website.

I will pass this on to our resource team for straight away so they can swap this word for a better example.

      I hope you have a lovely day! : )

    • After some thought, I realise it that it can used in terms of to re-treat something; however, it is still quite a difficult example and it would be great to change it to a more familiar word. thank you.

This mini-test will help you to assess how well your class understand hyphens. Children are required to insert missing hyphens, identify types of hyphens used and write their own sentences using hyphenated words.
