  • Distance-time graphs can return to zero when the object/person returns to their starting position.

  • I think the first graph in this resource is incorrect (the one about the cyclist travelling east). The distance between E and F returns to zero which makes the graph meaningless. I think it should go from 80 to 160. Even if this is mathematically correct I think it would still be very confusing for the pupils - if you could change it it would be appreciated

    • It's not meaningless its displacement, the cyclist turns back the way he came so overall the journey is 160m but he is retracing his steps.
